Online Course Delivery

The course is delivered online over 6 sessions live via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions in real time of our experienced welding technology trainer.


1.       Welding Processes

This will give an overview of common welding processes available including their advantages and disadvantages giving a better understanding of why a process may or may not be a better choice for a particular situation.

2.       Welding symbols and welded joint configurations

Outlining welding symbols that will be found on construction drawings and common welded joint configurations

3.       Welding defects

Common welding defects that can be found by visual inspection of welded joints.

4.       Destructive and Non-destructive testing

DT and NDT methods used to inspect welds and qualify weld procedures and welders

5.       PQR / WPS and Welder qualifications

What is A PQR and a WPS, why do I need one? When do I need one.

6.       Standards

Requirements of Australian and international standards including required extent of testing, limits of imperfections, welder and weld procedure qualification, range of qualification etc.

If you are interested in attending one of Weld Australia's courses but are unable to commit right now, you can 'bookmark' the course you are interested in to revisit later!

You need to be logged in to bookmark a course, so if you aren't logged in do so by clicking on 'Member Login' in the top right hand corner of this page. If you're not currently a member, you can create a Guest profile instead, which will allow you to bookmark courses as well - just click on 'Membership Application' then on 'Apply Now' and select Guest from the dropdown menu. 

Once you're logged in, you can bookmark any course by clicking on the grey 'bookmark' icon next to the course location. The course is bookmarked when the icon turns pink.

That course session will then be saved under 'My Bookmarked Courses' in your Weld Australia profile. When you are ready to register, you can then find it there. We will keep users who bookmark courses updated with any changes or updates to the course you have bookmarked.
