Welding Supervisor Training Maryborough - 50% Funding Available for Queensland Students

Weld Australia will be hosting a Welding Supervisor course at Manufacturing Skills Queensland, Maryborough. This training will be run over 3 x 1-week blocks. The first two weeks will be run consecutively with a break to allow students to sit their Paper A exam. Students will then come back for the final module and paper B examination. 

Students have the opportunity to sit either the AS2214 or the AS1796 Cert 10. The classes will be combined for modules 1 & 2 and then spilt into two separate groups for module 3.

To be eligible for funding 

Manufacturing Skills Queensland has kindly offered funding for this training for Queensland participants. Eligible Participants will receive the training and examinations at 50% off the original price. Please review the criteria below. 

Participant eligibility

• Must be an employee of a Queensland manufacturing business
• Must meet the below prerequisites for the training
• Must reside in Queensland (If you do not reside in Queensland and want to travel for the training, you can still register however, you won't receive funding)  

Business Eligibility 

• Must be a Queensland manufacturing business with less than 200 employees. To apply for the funding as a business, please send through a document stating your current number of employees and your work place manufacturing capabilities

Prerequisites

AS 1796 Welding Supervisor

To sit for AS1796 Certificate 10 Welding Supervisor, candidates need to provide evidence of one of: 

a)      Hold an AS 1796 Welding Certificate (1–9) and have a minimum of one year’s post-certification experience welding pressure equipment as defined in AS/NZS 1200.

b)     A welding certification in accordance with AS3992 or similar and have not less than two years’ experience welding pressure equipment, as defined in AS/NZS 1200.

c)       A qualification in engineering, metallurgy, or welding, with at least three years’ welded fabrication experience, including one year on pressure equipment (AS/NZS 1200).

AS 2214 Welding Supervisor

To sit for AS2214 Welding Supervisor, candidates need to provide evidence of one following:

   a) A Certificate III in Engineering fabrication or equivalent.

   b) Three years approved experience in the supervision or inspection of welding.

   c) A qualification in either engineering, metallurgy or welding, and three years approved experience related to the practical application of welding.
